Five Things I Like and Five Things You Like

I swiped this idea from Briana Soloski, who blogs on Girl Seeks Place. During the week, she shares all kinds of ideas on writing, her life, books and so many other things. A few days ago, she did life: five things I love & five things you love. The idea is that I will share five things I love and then, in the comments, you share five things you love in those same categories.

Name a food you absolutely love – I love pasta, but a few years ago I was diagnosed as Celiac. I was crushed! No more pasta? But then I found rice pasta. No more cravings!

Name an activity you love – I love hiking. And backpacking. Especially if I can get out alone. There’s just nothing like walking through a forest, or across the top of a mountain, just me and the environment.

Name a television show you love – This is a tough one for me because I love to watch TV. Some of the current faves are: The Walking Dead, CSI (any and all of them), any SciFi show (current ones are Revolution and Continuum), and Castle (because who doesn’t love Nathan Fillion?)

Name an author or book you love – I started really reading when I was twelve and discovered that the school library would let me borrow books. I discovered Sci Fi when I was 13. I’ve never stopped. I love Sci Fi and Fantasy. Greatest authors include Heinlein, Asimov, Clark, CJ Cherryh, Andre Norton and, and, and,……

Name a hobby that you love – My list of hobbies tried and liked is long. This includes cheese making, oil painting, sewing, greeting card making, cooking, gardening, weaving, and reading. The biggies right now are reading, weaving, and reading.

What are five things you love? Come on, don’t be shy, post yours in the comments section.

  1. My answers remain the same from my original post. 🙂 I’m so glad someone played along, though. Also, you make cheese? That’s the most awesome thing I’ve heard all day (and it’s only 8:30 a.m.)

  2. Name a food you absolutely love – Roast dinner. I love a sunday roast with all the trimmings. Why wait until Christmas!

Name an activity you love – I’d have to pick watching sport. I love live sport and as my wife would testify, I could watch anything. If two people sat on the floor bouncing a coin into a cup and said it was the world championships I’d watch it.

Name a television show you love – The West Wing. I’ve seen each episode three times and must be about time to start from the beginning again. For programmes still on I do love Criminal Minds.

Name an author or book you love – I’m really enjoying the Odd Thomas series from Dean Koontz. There was a time 20 years ago, where everbook I read seemed to be one of his. I’ve had a sabbatical from his work, but with Odd Thomas I’m back.

Name a hobby that you love – writing. I’ve had spells in my life when I’ve not written anything and I’ve felt so empty. I love to write and blog and I hope it never stops.

    That was fun. 🙂

  3. Food: Fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, slab of BBQ pork backribs.
Activity: Hiking with my dog Shortie and hiking buddies.
    TV show: Person of Interest
Author/Book: Cookbooks: Williams-Sonoma, Food & Wine, & Bon Appetit…all purchased for a couple bucks in brand new condition at thrift stores over the years!
Hobby: Way back when, it was counted cross-stitch, then knitting…which makes me think…I need to get back at it! I did enjoy it!

  4. Try corn pasta–even better than rice! If you have a Trader Joe’s they have the best one. It’s a celiac’s dream and others can’t tell the differnce! 🙂
